Leatherface x MUDIE t-shirt COLLAB

Pour plusieurs raisons, Leatherface est de retour dans ma vie. Récemment, on a préparé leur playlist pour notre club de playlists/podcast, et j’ai aussi lu le tout nouveau livre de Chris MacDonald. Depuis, je réécoute leurs albums en boucle, et ça m’a rappelé que Yesterd avait fait un split 7’’ avec eux. En plus, Fred et moi avions formé Medictation avec Dickie et Graeme, et bientôt une nouvelle collaboration entre Ste Cath et Leatherface verra le jour. Je me suis même pincé pour être sûr que je ne rêvais pas !

Je me demande comment, quand j’étais enfant, mon chanteur préféré était Rudy Caya, et que maintenant, je suis devenu ami avec lui. Puis, Frankie Stubbs est devenu mon chanteur favori, et je suis aussi devenu ami avec lui. Même chose avec Mara Tremblay, ma chanteuse québécoise préférée : on a chanté ensemble et partagé des moments. Je ne sais pas si on peut dire qu’on est amis, mais on se salue et moi, je l’adore.

Bref, je me trouve vraiment chanceux.

En fouillant dans mes souvenirs, je suis tombé sur une photo de moi à Sunderland, dans le bar où Leatherface traîne depuis 30 ans, portant un t-shirt de leur album Mush. Je me suis demandé où il était passé, ce t-shirt, et pourquoi je n’en avais pas d’autres. J’en avais un avec un chien dessus à l’époque où on avait sorti leur album live (oui, j’ai aussi sorti un album live de mon groupe préféré, Leatherface).

Bref… Je me suis fait un t-shirt.

J’ai demandé à Graeme si c’était correct, et il a dit oui.

Donc voici mon t-shirt inspiré par Leatherface. Il dit "DAYS and DAYS", parce que ça colle avec le livre, mais en vrai, ça devrait dire "I WANT THE MOON". Si tu es cool, tu peux te procurer le bundle t-shirt et livre. Un tirage numéroté à 25 exemplaires de cet artwork sera bientôt disponible aussi.

Tout ça, c’est magique. Comme la vie, parfois.

For many reasons, Leatherface is back in my life. We recently created their playlist for our playlist club/podcast, and I also read Chris MacDonald’s brand new book. Since then, I’ve been listening to them non-stop, and it reminded me that Yesterday's Ring had done a split 7" with them. Fred and I also formed Medictation with Dickie and Graeme, and soon a new Ste Cath / Leatherface collaboration will see the light of day. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!

I wonder how, when I was a kid, my favorite singer was Rudy Caya, and now I’m friends with him. Later on, Frankie Stubbs became my favorite singer, and I became friends with him too. Same with Mara Tremblay, my favorite Quebec singer: we’ve sung and hung out together a few times. I’m not sure if we’re friends, but we say hi, and I think she’s awesome.

Anyway, I feel super lucky.

While going down memory lane, I found a photo of me in Sunderland, in the bar where this crew has been hanging out for 30 years, wearing a Leatherface Mush shirt. I wondered where it went, and why I didn’t have more Leatherface shirts. I used to have one with a dog on it, back when we released the live album (yes, I also released a live album of Leatherface...my favorite band).

Anyway… I made myself a shirt.

I asked Graeme if it was okay, and he said yes.

So here’s my Leatherface collaboration shirt. It says "DAYS and DAYS" because it fits with the book, but it should really say "I WANT THE MOON". If you’re cool, you can grab the shirt and book bundle. A numbered print of this artwork, limited to 25 copies, will also be available soon.
